Residents and Community
This message comes from City Council President and all members of Council. In light of the recent news concerning the Corona Virus-COVID 19, we are taking the necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. We can not assume that we are immuned to this deadly disease which is taking lives daily.
As a precaution, we asked that you not attend Council meetings at this time. According to our City Charter Section 103 (D) states: “The Council shall determine its own Rules and order of business and shall keep a journal of proceedings.” According to Robert’s Rules of Order, Council may “suspend” the rules at any time that no question is pending and can be applied to any rule of the body accept bylaws.
That said, City Council members will not delay the business of the City and will meet this Wednesday briefly for the Regular Council meeting to only address the legislation under consideration. If you have any questions or concerns about legislation, please direct your calls to the Council members or the City Council Office. Minutes and legislation are available upon request via email or phone. Video of the meeting will be available on the local Channel 9 and on Youtube. Again, please remain home from the meetings until further notice. Thank you and be safe.
