Service, Integrity & Pride
Welcome to the home of the East Cleveland Police Department. East Cleveland Police officers strive to improve the quality of life and property, maintain order, and reduce crime through education and prevention. In cooperation with the citizens, East Cleveland's police officers are dedicated to upholding the constitution and laws of the State of Ohio and the United States and the laws of the City of East Cleveland. East Cleveland Police officers strive to serve the community based on the following values: integrity, respect, pride and fairness. The challenge of today's leaders is not to leave policing in America in the same condition we inherited it, but to improve it by exercising leadership that makes a difference. The primary functions of the police department are to protect life, liberty, and property; to enforce all laws and ordinances; to preserve the peace and public order; to prevent crime; to detect violations of the law; to investigate crimes against persons and property; and to work in conjunction with all other levels of the criminal justice system.
